Office Moving Announcement

Surehaven is pleased to announce that we have relocated from our Newport office to our new office premises which are located at 1 Links Court, Links Business Park, St Mellons, Cardiff, CF3 0LT.

Our telephone and fax numbers will be changed to 029 2036 5590 and 029 2036 8694 respectively.  However, our Newport telephone number will still continue to receive incoming calls and be diverted to the new office for three months commencing 1st July 2009.

We look forward to hearing from you at our new location.

Surehaven announces improved website

Surehaven is pleased to announce that our website has been updated and now includes photographs and virtual tours of our facilities as well as advertising all job vacancies across the company.  Futher enhancements are planned with a new re-launched website later in the year.

Surehaven announces registration of Pembroke Dock Hospital

On Wednesday, 20th May 2009, Surehaven received formal approval and registration from Healthcare Inspectorate Wales to open its new hospital for business. This marks the culmination of a vision to offer a first class local facility for the people of West Wales to those with mental health problems. Tim Savage, Managing Director said “I am delighted that Healthcare Inspectorate Wales has today registered Surehaven – Pembroke Dock. We have worked very hard in partnership with them to meet the necessary standards. This has been a team effort and I would like to thank my staff the people and businesses of Pembroke Dock for their support over the last year during the building of the hospital.” This is the first of a planned series of specialist facilities that Surehaven plans to open around the UK over the coming years.

Surehaven commences work on first Scottish Service

Surehaven is pleased to announce that the programme of works on a new 16 bed unit in Drumchapel commenced on 20/04/09.  The exciting venture is a result of many months of collaboration with the design team and contractors resulting in a Surehaven building that will enable us to set new standards for patient care and treatment.
 
The new service due to open in the Spring 2010 will combine a state of the art building and philosophy of care that will provide a positive experience for the patient group in two gender specific wards. Surehaven’s clinical team will take advantage of this purpose designed building to provide treatment programmes for men and women with a range of mental disorders.
 
When open, the Drumchapel Service will complement the existing services in Wales and the further planned Scottish developments.
 
Ewan McLean, Director of Operations for Scotland, said “our Drumchapel development will offer an exceptional environment for patient care. I have every confidence that the service to be delivered in Drumchapel will be exciting and innovative, benefiting both the local area and patients across the country”.

PEMBROKE AND FLAGSHIP MENTAL HEALTH HOSPITAL

Inspected by Health Inspectorate Wales, Surehaven’s flagship low secure purpose built hospital was unveiled on the 6th March 2009. The hospital has received many visitors including members of the general public and health professionals and they have all been have been impressed with the quality of the facilities. Many have commented on the warmth and calmness of the hospital. The hospital has an experienced, well trained professional team and is well placed to be ‘part of the solution’ in providing local mental health services for local people and those who are currently placed out of County and in need of repatriation. 

The thoroughness in the planning and preparation and the attention to detail for those who will be resident at the Hospital has exceeded expectation. Each of the 16 bedrooms has ensuite facilities and each ward is gender specific. The Hospital boasts an internet café, space for individual interests, on site Psychiatry and Psychology and an experienced chef to cater for all tastes. The Hospital has ideal facilities for specific care and recovery focused therapy programmes. 

Over 200 applicants applied for a variety of positions in the hospital and Surehaven’s aim wherever possible has been to provide jobs for local people and also to utilize local business services.  Over 80% of the produce used in the kitchen for example comes from local suppliers.  The hospital is now awaiting final certification and will be ready shortly to receive its first patients.

Surehaven' appoints new Managing Director

Surehaven have appointed a new Managing Director Tim Savage, who joined us on 14th April 2009.  Tim joins us at a very exciting time for the company as we open our first hospital in Pembroke Dock, West Wales.  Tim is really looking forward to continuing the excellent work done by our former MD , Keith Woodall and is firmly committed to the vision, ethos and philosophy of the company.  On taking up the post, Tim said “I know that all the Surehaven team will wish to join me in thanking Keith for his huge contribution to the company.  It was Keith’s vision that got us off the ground and part of the attraction of taking up my new appointment was to be able to build upon Keith’s vision for the company.  We all wish Keith the very best of luck for the future and a very happy, healthy and well-deserved retirement in sunny Spain!

OPEN FOR VIEWING February 2009

Building work on Surehaven’s purpose built flagship low secure unit is nearing completion. “Its most satisfying to see the hours of detailed planning, preparation and all of the hard work of the development team coming to fruition” said Surehaven Managing Director. He went on to say “even at this stage its easy to see that the accommodation is going to be of a very high standard and will provide ideal facilities for care and therapy programmes which are going to be offered at the unit in Pembroke Dock” Recruitment for the unit has already started and so far the response has been tremendous with over 200 applicants. Over 40 permanent jobs will be created across West Wales. Once appointed all staff will receive induction and ongoing training.  As the hospital is near completion local healthcare professionals, councillors and the general public will be invited to come and have a look around the unit and talk to the care team.
